What’s Your Look?

Some fun news: Mamalina is growing and going to be including writing, imagery, tips and general awesomeness from other women around the world. These women aren’t going to be big Instagrammers (some might by by a happy chance), but more ordinary, very extraordinary women who are experts in their own field and who have wisdom and talent to impart.

I could not be more excited to share news of our first regular contributor, Nina Cosford. Nina is a freelance illustrator living and working in East Sussex. She’s worked with the likes of Netflix, The School of Life and probably the coolest programme in the world, the HBO TV show GIRLS (we also could not love Lena Denham more.). She’s also an author and an avid traveller, bringing her sketchbook with her everywhere she goes.

Here’s more about Nina’s work in her own words: My work tends to focus on female narratives; exploring the everyday ups and downs of modern life whilst trying to balance humour and sensitivity. I like illustrating common themes like identity and self-deprecation but with an element of wit and hope which my audience can relate to and not feel so alone about. I think illustration can be very powerful mode of communication which can speak to people universally on many different levels.

We’ll be featuring an illustration by Nina Cosford every week. We think she’s awesome, and hope you do too. And if you think you have something to share, please let me know as I’m on the hunt for more contributors and we’d love to talk more!
